Good afternoon,
Needless to say, it was a late night. Nursing a hangover today? We’ve got you covered with a guide to comfort foods around DC. Treat yourself with a monster breakfast burrito or some restorative chicken pho.
Also, we talked to chef and humanitarian José Andrés about Trump's win, threats of mass deportation, and whether he might actually run for office someday. Here’s what he had to say.
HOT OPENING: Osteria Mozza—the highly anticipated Italian restaurant and market from Le Diplomate’s Stephen Starr and California chef Nancy Silverton—will finally open in Georgetown on Sunday, November 10. Among the highlights: spicy roast chicken on toast, handmade pastas, focaccia di Recco (a cheesy, cracker-like bread that you can opt to top with caviar and truffles), and an entire menu section devoted to mozzarella.
NON-PROFIT RESTAURANT: Celebrity chef Edward Lee has opened a non-profit restaurant in Union Market aimed at researching the hospitality industry’s most pressing issues, particularly sustainability and waste reduction. It serves a seven-course modern Korean menu for $165 per person, and tables are already booked up.

COMING SOON: A subterranean cocktail lounge and record bar called Press Club is opening very soon in Dupont Circle. The menu is styled like a vinyl record with an a la carte "track list" of up to a dozen cocktails, plus a curated "play list" tasting that will be inspired by different albums. An izakaya-style food menu will include katsu sandwiches and an Outback Steakhouse-inspired bloomin’ onion—with caviar.
CHEF MOVES: Caruso’s Grocery and Cucina Morini chef Matt Adler is now culinary advisor to Osteria Morini in Navy Yard. He’s introducing some new northern Italian-inspired dishes, including an osso bucco-filled ravioli with saffron butter and baked polenta with mushroom ragu. The restaurant is also adding a pasta tasting with four pastas and dessert for $50.
EXPANSIONS: Ingle Korean Steakhouse has become a standout on the Korean barbecue scene for its American wagyu prix-fixe and higher-end vibe. It will open a second location near 14th and U streets, Northwest in the fall of 2025.
